People use AdvisorLB to decide who to call — a lawyer in Beirut, a dentist in Tripoli, a contractor in the Bekaa. That is only useful if what we publish is accurate and if it is clear where it came from. This page explains who produces the directory, how listings are checked, how our guides are written, and what to do when we get something wrong.
AdvisorLB is produced by a small editorial desk based in Beirut. Articles carry the “AdvisorLB Team” byline because they are the work of that desk rather than of a single writer — research, drafting and review usually involve more than one person. We publish under a team byline rather than inventing individual author profiles. Editorial responsibility for everything on this site rests with AdvisorLB’s founding editor, who answers directly at the contact address below.
Businesses are added from information that is publicly available: the business’s own website, its public social profiles, professional association and registry listings, and direct contact with the business itself. Before a listing goes live we confirm that the business exists, that the location we publish is real, and that the phone number or email we publish actually reaches it. Owners can claim their listing and maintain it themselves; claimed listings are reviewed before changes are published. The listing counts shown on category pages are the businesses we have actually recorded, not estimates.
A guide exists to help someone make a decision. We favour fewer articles that say something specific about Lebanon — what a service typically costs here, which association licenses the profession, which documents you will be asked for, what usually goes wrong — over general advice that could have been written about anywhere. In August 2026 we withdrew several hundred older guides that had been assembled from a small set of repeated templates and did not meet that standard. We would rather publish a hundred articles worth reading than six hundred that are not. Guides are general information and not professional advice: for legal, medical or financial decisions, consult a licensed practitioner.
A business cannot buy a favourable description. Paid subscriptions affect how prominently a listing appears in directory results, and that is stated wherever we sell them; they do not change what we write about a business, and they do not buy a mention in a guide. We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage.
AdvisorLB is free to use and is funded by business subscriptions and by advertising. Advertisements are supplied by third parties, are marked as advertising, and are selected automatically — they are not endorsements and they are not chosen by the editorial desk. How advertising and analytics cookies work, and how to withdraw your consent, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
If we have published something inaccurate, tell us and we will fix it. Write to us with the address of the page and what is wrong with it. We correct factual errors once we can confirm the correction, and we will update or remove a listing at the request of the business it describes.
Corrections, removal requests and questions about anything published here reach the editorial desk directly. We are based in Beirut, Lebanon.
